The Joyous Songs of Christmas
Columbia Special Products C 10400
1971

A very unusual package, even by the standards set by the prior deluxe editions. A four-album package, with a new gold leaf cover, and colored metallic sleeves for each disc. But only one disc was from the Goodyear Christmas catalog, and it was just the same album as the regular album for 1971 (not even colored vinyl).

The other three albums are just existing Christmas albums by individual artists: 'A Christmas Album' by Barbra Streisand, 'The Andy Williams Christmas Album', and 'Merry Christmas' by Bing Crosby. The discs themselves were identical to their regular commercial counterparts, down to the record label. (Which brings up the most unusual aspect of the package: the Bing Crosby album was on Decca, which was not part of Columbia Records in any way, so I can only imagine some very high-level strings were pulled to enable the inclusion of it here. Most intriguing.)

Since the content of the Goodyear album is the same as the regular release, I will not repeat the content. The content of the other albums is easily found online.
